The Thames Catchment Forum (TCF) is an interactive regional forum hosted by Thames Rivers Trust
The TCF brings together the organisations that work across the Thames Catchment, to discuss their current activities, identify issues and foster further collaboration, solutions and coordination. Some organisations have been members since 2017:
The Environment Agency, Natural England, Thames Water, National Farmers Union, RWE Generation UK, Thames Estuary Partnership, Thames Regional Flood & Coastal Committee, the RSPB, The Country Land and Business Association, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust and the Greater London Authority; with South East Rivers Trust and Thames21 joining in 2019.
The Forum was set up by TRT in 2017 to take a holistic view across the river basin and add value to the WFD process, enabling catchment wide communication between the principal third sector delivery groups and the EA and Thames Water.
During the last 5 years the TCF has evolved into a shared space for dialogue, where updates and opportunities are presented by the multiple participant members.
This year (2022), incentivised by TRT’s collaboration with the Catchment Partnership Support (CaPS) Fund, the TCF has opened its doors to the 27 Catchment Partnership host organisations in the region. In line with this and in addition to the topics covered in previous meetings, the TCF will now also incorporate a segment for sharing learnings. This expansion in terms of members and objectives certainly takes the TCF to the next level, and we hope to keep leading the growth of the TCF into the future.
