Over the past nine years Thames Rivers Trust has completed a wide range of projects on the Thames and its tributaries
From large projects such as the restoration of the Mayes Brook and adjoining park in the London Borough of Barking (excess £1million) to smaller community projects such as the restoration of water meadows next to the River Kennet at Cooper’s Meadow in the centre of Marlborough (£45k).
We have worked with an equally wide range of partners, in both the private and public sector, including British Waterways (now the Canal and Rivers Trust). In 2010 we funded the Environment Agency Thames region’s successful entry to win the prestigious Theiss International River Prize for the River Thames, rewarding the Agency, it’s predecessors and it’s many partners in the third sector, for the transformation of the Thames and its tributaries over the past fifty years.
